In honor of Halloween here is a festive pumpkin activity, although this is something that could be done anytime during this time of year. I originally found the idea on the "Principal Principles Leadership Group" on Facebook. If you don't already, it is a great group to follow for a variety of ideas and support!
For "Pumpkin in a Pocket" you simply
discreetly give one pumpkin each to a predetermined number of staff members. For the pumpkins I got a small bag of tiny plastic pumpkins for 50% off at Hobby Lobby, but a small laminated picture of pumpkin easily works too! Throughout the day staff can ask each other, "Do you have a pumpkin?" If they have one in their pocket, they need to give it to the person who asked. At the end of the school day people who have the pumpkins earn a prize, which is whatever you want it to be. I will also do a couple of announcements throughout the day which will award whoever has the pumpkins at that moment a jeans pass and a small treat. Check the image for the complete rules. You can click on the link below to go to a copy of a Canva file that you can edit, but just be sure and make a copy of the file before you edit it!
